You can choose which alerts you want on and which you want off, so you're not getting a push notification every time your dog moves around - which for me would be never anyway, since I've learned that my pup's favorite activity when I'm gone is to just lie on the bed looking sad. Other fun features include automatic night vision if the room gets dark and specific alerts when your dog barks, when a human enters the frame (if you have a dog walker you could even creepily say hi to them through this thing), when your dog takes a "selfie" (aka is near the camera and looking straight at it), and any activity caught on camera. It's a two-way camera with a crisp AF picture in addition to sound, so you can hear what's going on on the other end and you can talk to your pup through the app! Plus? YOU CAN GIVE YOUR DOG TREATS THROUGH THE CAMERA!!! The top portion of the device has a lid you can lift to fill with the (small) treats of your liking, and then you just push the treat icon on the app to fire away the camera comes with a complimentary bag to start you off and so you have a good idea of how big the treats should be in order to be dispensed properly. Unlike snoozy ol' security-type cameras of yore, the Furbo, which is controlled via app and operates on Wi-Fi, has been designed especially for dogs (and, sure, cats too, if you'd like to keep an eye on your kitty when you're away). If you've never owned a pet camera before and decide to take the plunge, I have good faith you might find yourself doing the same.įirst off, the Furbo is no ordinary pet camera. These days, I like to think of my dog-owning life as divided into two discrete parts: BF and AF (before Furbo and after Furbo).
